Children will be able to ‘pop’ the bubbles on the board to identify the outcome of two addends.
Simple concept
The addends one to ten are represented on vertical and horizontal axes, with the product in the corresponding bubble.
Ideal in the classroom
The bubble board is a tactile tool, made of durable materials suitable for frequent use by young children.
Reinforce skills with addition. Students could use two ten-sided die to generate equations, mapping these onto the bubble board to reveal the answer and pop the number.
Or the board could even be adapted to create more complex subtraction scenarios. For example, by working backwards from a chosen bubble on the board, and subtracting the corresponding number on the row axis, the product will be the corresponding number on the column axis.
