Bead strings are a tried and tested ‘go-to’ for teaching mathematics. Their possible applications are wide ranging, from counting and number recognition, through to equivalence place value, ratio, and estimation. This set contains 30 bead strings and a pack of 50 step-by-step activity cards. All packed in a super handy plastic box with clip lid, ideal for compact storage when not in use.

Fun activity cards

The double-sided activity cards contain clear, easy-to-follow instructions for a wide variety of educational activities. Students will love the colourful illustrations, which will help them to comprehend the aim of the task. The cards are broken down to show ‘objective’, ‘resources’, and ‘procedure’.

Tactile sensory resource

Each of the 30 bead strings has 20 spherical beads, made from a smooth plastic. They’re positioned in distinct sets of five, alternating vibrant red with white. This system allows clear differentiation between the sets of five. They slide easily along the thick black cord, which has a knot at each end to prevent the beads falling off.

This set contains enough resources to easily cater for the whole class. Students will be able to work individually using their own bead string and an activity card. Alternatively, you could all follow the steps of one card at the same time.
