Bundling sticks are a foundational tool, primarily used for introducing the concept of place value before moving on to resources like MAB blocks. Equally, the sticks can be useful for children who struggle to grasp the concept using blocks. There are a range of potential uses beyond place value, including activities centred around counting, patterns and sequencing, number operations, and probability, to name a few!

A rainbow of colours

Ten bright colours are included: Blue, dark and light green, yellow, white, orange, red, purple, brown, and black. The vibrant array adds extra appeal for young children.

A comprehensive set

With 1000 sticks (100 of each colour), elastic bands, and activity guide packed in a sturdy box for compact storage within the classroom. The elastic bands are perfectly sized for grouping the sticks, and purposefully small to reduce their ‘pinging power’!

Activity guide included

To get you started with this resource, we’ve provided a useful leaflet written by Dr Paul Swan. It contains guidance for a series of educational games utilising the sticks, particularly addressing topics like place value and number composition.
