Hands-on learning
Use the cotton reels for a variety of patterning, sorting and maths activities. For example, if 3 yellow reels and 4 green reels are added together, how many reels would that add up to? Alternatively, a set of different coloured reels could be used to designate the sum (e.g. 7 blue reels in this case).
Threading cotton reels also help children develop hand-eye coordination and strengthen motor skills.
