The DECA Prism Set includes a variety of translucent glass optical acrylic prisms. Each prism measures 25mm in thickness, made of strong and durable materials. These prims can be used to create optical illusions with a flashlight and teach students about how our brains and eyes work in unison. This is a great foundational topic for further teaching on biology, physics, and earth/space science.

A range of shapes

This DECA Prism Set includes 10 different prisms in rectangular, triangular, and oval shapes. This variation provides students with a variety of optical effects.

Convenient storage

The Deca Prism set comes stored in a foam lined box with inserts so that students know where each shape belongs and can organise the set with ease.

In the classroom children can take turns holding prisms up to the light, observing or sketching the interesting shapes made. Another challenge would be for students to define why the different prisms produce different displays of light. Alternatively, teachers may wish to use these prisms as a demonstration during a science lesson. The 10 prisms allow students to observe them in pairs or groups. In full, this product contains:
