These Phase 5.5 non-fiction decodable readers cover the r-controlled vowel sounds (/ar/ /or/ /ur/ /air/ /ear/).
Each sound has two titles, and each reader provides alternative spellings (graphemes) for the target sound (phoneme). The target sounds are highlighted for easy identification, making the spellings easy to compare across sound families. The words that don’t have the target sounds, as well as common exception words, are decodable at the phase level.
