These spinner boards make it easier to visualise the concept of probability. Designed by Dr Paul Swan, the idea is simply to flick the spinner and record the results of a series of spins. Results can be compared for the different scenarios.

Simple to use

Each board is divided into six colourful circles, which are segmented to present varied probability scenarios. The vibrant array of blue, green, red, yellow, orange, and purple segments are clear and distinct, making it easier for students to identify which the spinner has landed on.

Peace and quiet

Spinner boards make a quiet alternative to dice as a probability resource, as the spinners are self-contained and don’t make noise when used. This is ideal for the classroom environment, particularly if you have multiple students/groups working on activities at the same time.

Probability is one of the key topics taught in primary mathematics. A wallet of eight boards allows multiple groups of students to work simultaneously, or equally would suit independent problem-solving work if given to individual students.
