A geomirror is designed such that it reflects one side whilst allowing you to see through the mirror itself. This makes it an excellent tool for analysing the symmetry of a shape, and guides students when they’re drawing.
Beyond maths and science
Draw any shape, and put a line of symmetry through it. Place the length of the mirror on top of the line of symmetry. Based on what’s shown in the mirror versus the actual drawing, determine if the drawing is symmetrical or not.
A supply of 15 geomirrors means students can either work in pairs or groups which helps develop communication and social skills. In addition, this provides an opportunity for discussion and further exploration of other related topics such as refelction, angles, and more.
