Once students have gone through Phases 1 to 5, it’s time for them to delve into these Spelling Decodable Readers. These spelling readers we have at Abacus are interwoven into fictional tales and non-fiction science narratives, making them more comprehensible and enjoyable for younger readers.
Our Spelling Decodable Readers tackle the final phase with colour-coded materials that consolidate earlier taught skills as well as ‘tricky words’. They are available in sets of 12, and are categorised into Fiction and Non-Fiction.
Many of the spelling readers touch on embedded words with suffixes such as -s, -es, -ing, -ed, -ful, -er, -est, -en, -y and -ly. Used together, these readers prepare your students for the higher levels by enabling them to identify patterns in spelling that they can apply to more complex words.
