MAB ‘Flats’ form a component of the base ten system, whereby ten single units form one ‘long’, and ten longs form one flat. With use alongside the units, longs, and cube, it’s possible to explain place value in a clear and accessible format.

Smooth wooden manipulatives

Made from a smooth, tactile wood, the flats are ideal for safe use by young children. Each have indents at regular intervals to make clear that they’re made up of one hundred equal parts. The flats are fused and therefore cannot be dismantled. All 30 supplied are uniform in size, shape, and colour.
