This book will give you plenty of ideas to use School Friendly Playing Cards for a wide range of mathematical activities.

Almost all card games will help students develop fluency and reasoning. The games in this book have been chosen because they are simple to set up and play. This makes them ideal for use as ‘Warm Ups’ at the start of the lesson.

Unlike standard playing cards, school friendly cards strip away all the extraneous information such as Queen or King that young children may not be aware of yet. In contrast, school friendly playing cards feature the numbers children already know, as well as shapes and colours they’ve learned previously. This allows them to concentrate on playing the cards for their intended purpose - i.e. mastering maths.
