They’re a failsafe resource for teaching sorting, graphing, patterns, volume, fractions, number facts, and so much more. You don’t need to stop at maths, why not try weighing and measuring the cubes to practise key investigative science skills?
Cubes and blocks are essential for teaching children basic maths concepts and spatial awareness. Their shape allows them to be stacked together vertically and horizontally. The cubes come in four and ten different vibrant colours and can be pieced together to make a mixture of different fun colour combinations. The different colours make these a great device for practising number sequencing and probability, or for playing a statistical guessing game.
Our cubes class sets cater for the whole class, these are usually supplied in a sturdy Gratnells Tray with lid for neat storage. Others, like the group or student sets, contain the resources to suit a small team or independent working. All are versatile and can be adapted to suit your particular setting.
Our cubes group sets comes with a bonus time saving ideas booklet which is packed full of ideas to maximise the use of the 1cm and 2cm cubes whilst the class sets comes with 'Cubes in Classroom' book written by Dr Paul Swan. The ideas in the book have been compiled with the school curriculum in mind, helping children to explore specific themes, like measuring volumes, or evaluating cube constructions from different angles. It covers the use of extra pieces, such as double cubes, joiners, and half cubes, and how these can enhance construction concepts.
