Save time illustrating maths concepts with our magnetic cubes. If you happen to have a magnetic whiteboard (or similar tools), you can simply stick the cubes on there to showcase how smaller shapes can be used to construct bigger ones, for example.
Alternatively, you can ask your students to create those shapes themselves. The magnetic cubes can even be used in games like Pictionary.
Activity Ideas:
- Pictionary. In this delightful game, one student creates an image on the blackboard by laying out one piece of magnetic pattern blocks at a time. The rest of the class has to guess what figure the student is trying to form.
- Complete the puzzle. Stick a random piece on the board, and ask the class what piece must be added to form a specific shape. For example, if you stick a parallelogram shape, sticking an equilateral triangle beside one of the shorter sides makes up a trapezoid.
- Guess the fraction/decimal. Our magnetic fraction blocks have fractions on one side and their decimal equivalents on the other. Stick the blocks with the fraction/decimal facing the class, and have them guess the value on the other side.
