Our range of products includes 6 individual fraction dice and a jar of 60 fraction dice. These come in three colours denoting a different set of fractions, White: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8, and 1/12 Green: 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 Red: 1/3, 1/6 and 1/12.
Students can practise pattern-making by lining the fractions up in a specific order (ie, odd, even, odd, odd, even). Guessing the next dice in a pattern or finding the common link improves children’s understanding of statistical probability.
In a group of three one player rolls multiple dice resulting in a list of fractions. The other two players must quickly add together all the fractions, and the first person to answer correctly wins. This can go around in a circle to improve efficiency and numeric understanding.
With a whiteboard at the ready, students can roll a fraction dice and draw the pie chart equivalent to the fraction the dice land on. This will improve their ability to visualise quantities and transfer between different methods of maths.
