Push and pull spring scales are used to measure both weight and the force of an object. This set of six spring scales each have a different capacity for you to demonstrate the concept: 250g, 500g, 1kg, 2kg, 3kg, and 5kg.

Easy-to-use

Calibrated in grams, for use weighing objects up to 5kg, and Newtons, to measure force. There’s a clear, flat area on each rod – here you can use a dry wipe marker to create your own scales. The hook on the end of the scales allows you to attach the object to be weighed.

Scales have a multitude of uses in the classroom. Spring scales are particularly helpful for introducing children to a different method of weighing that they might not have seen before. Weight measurement, and the identification of different units, is a key area of the Australian Curriculum.
