This teacher bead string holds 100 spherical plastic beads on a strong cord. Bead strings are an excellent means of working through concepts like counting, number sense, and basic arithmetic. But their potential uses are wide ranging. They can be applied to teach key mathematics skills, such as greater/less than, place value, compliments, rounding, fractions, percentages, ratios, and many more.

Demonstration tool

The beads are large (18mm) and divided into distinct sets of ten along the cord. Each set of ten alternates vibrant red and white, making it very clear where each section starts and ends. The ends are knotted to prevent beads coming loose.

Could be used at the start of the lesson to convey the topic to be covered, or equally as a means of working through maths problems alongside students step-by-step.
