The Beanies are Hi-Lo stories designed for older students to master their understanding of letters and sounds.

This version builds upon the Set 1 and Set 2 by introducing 38 different consonants which are known as blends. This aligns with Phase 4 of the Letters and Sounds program, which introduces weekly blends to encourage slow progression in phonics. This set includes 12 books at the Phase 4 level.  

Suited for different skill levels  

The week-by-week progression program allows students to learn at their own pace and slowly build personal confidence.  

Diverse content  

Each book is centred around a cast of diverse, relatable, and teenage characters that reflect the modern world that we live in.   

Due to being targeted towards older and slower learners, this boxed set is ideal for students to study with independently. Alternatively, students could team up to complete tasks and assist in one another’s progression. Younger students who are advanced readers can also use these decodable readers to further their skill set.
