The Beanies are Hi-Lo stories designed for older students to master their understanding of letters and sounds.

Continuing from Set 1, Set 2 focuses on Phase 6 (spelling) which focuses on teaching students a wider vocabulary, such as embedded words with suffixes. Every week students are exposed to new letter sounds and words that encourage slow reading progression. This part of Set 2 includes 12 books at the Phase 6 level.

The week-by-week progression program allows students to learn at their own pace and slowly build personal confidence.

Each book is centred around a cast of diverse, relatable, and teenage characters that reflect the modern world that we live in.    

Due to being targeted towards older and slower learners, this boxed set is ideal for students to study with independently. Alternatively, students could team up to complete tasks and assist in one another’s progression. Younger students who are advanced readers can also use these decodable readers to further their skill set.
