Children can use the shapes to compare and match similar objects in the room, classify specific attributes, sketch 2D and 3D shapes, and practise measurement. Finding similarities and differences between the solids encourages the use of comparative language, and classification skills through the identification of flat vs curved surfaces, faces, vertices, and corners.
